Getting to La Línea

By air, road, bus, or ferry. How to reach La Línea from anywhere.

✈️

By Air

Gibraltar Airport is the closest, literally a five-minute walk across the border. EasyJet and British Airways fly to London, with some seasonal routes to Manchester and Bristol. For more options, Malaga Airport is about 90 minutes by car or bus and serves hundreds of international destinations.

🚗

By Car

From Malaga, take the AP-7 motorway south (about 130 km, 90 minutes). From Seville, the A-381 and A-4 route takes around two and a half hours. There is ample parking in La Línea, including large car parks near the border that many Gibraltar workers use.

🚌

By Bus

Avanza runs regular bus services from Malaga bus station (around 3 hours, from roughly 15 euros). Comes Interurbanos connects La Línea with Algeciras, Tarifa, and other local towns. The bus station is centrally located, a short walk from the border.

🚶

From Gibraltar

The border is open 24 hours for pedestrians and vehicles. Simply walk across from Gibraltar into La Línea in about five minutes. There can be queues at peak times (morning and evening commute), but pedestrian crossings are generally quick.

⛴️

By Ferry

Algeciras, 20 minutes away, has ferry services to Tangier in Morocco and Ceuta. Tarifa also has fast ferry connections to Tangier. Both ports are easily accessible from La Línea by bus or car.

🚂

By Train

The nearest major train station is San Roque / La Línea station on the Algeciras to Bobadilla line. From there you can connect to Ronda, Antequera, and the broader Spanish rail network. Direct high-speed rail connections are planned as part of future infrastructure improvements.
